BBC Podcasting Masterclass!

In order to move the podcasting network at Longton forwards, students will spend a day at BBC Radio Stoke taking part in a podcasting masterclass. This means that by September they will hit the ground running, ready to start producing regular podcasts. More information to follow...

This month we are producing two podcasts, the first covering projects that we worked on in March and April, and the Second to highlight our upcoming projects for the summer Term.

Our Feature this month cover Edensor Technology College , who came into the CLC to use our Television Studio facilities.

As usual, we give you the news about projects the City Learning Centres have been working on in the last month.

Holden Lane had a go

Well i spent a few hours with some of my Year 7's to create our first podcast.
They seemed to love the talking into the microphone, and although they may have had different music tastes to me, we agreed on the music tracks we inserted into our cast.
They wrote all their own inserts and did their own research, although the cast is over 12 minutes long, our next cast will contain more talking now that that they know what they can achieve and we won't rely on as much music as a backbone.

4 days to go till publication

We have just four days to go until the publication deadline. By now the Three podcasting teams will have begun putting together their content for their podcasts to be released on Tuesday the 28th of February.

The CLC Podcast will be Featuring an Interview with Rosemary Tysall - STARS group co-ordinator who will be discussing the impact the STARS cultural repect group have had at Longton High and accross the City.

As usual there will be the City Learning centre news roundup and JADE & LIAM will be giving us their links of the month.

We look forward to hearing the other Podcasts.

Are we all creating separate podcasts?

Hi everyone,

Out of interest, are we all creating separate podcasts, or are we working on a collaborative podcast which would obviously need to be edited together?

Also, are we focussing on particular subjects in the curriculum or general things that would be of use to students?

Sorry I couldn't attend the first meeting, where all of this was probably discussed, but I was sent on a course at the last minute.
